How does the clinic operate?

Dr. Ryu personally oversees every stage of patient care, from the initial consultation and surgery to postoperative follow-up. To ensure individualized attention and careful surgical care, he performs only one facelift surgery per day.

At RNWOOD, surgical recommendations are guided by each patient’s individual concerns and clinical needs, following the philosophy: “No Symptoms, No Surgery.”

The patient journey begins with an online inquiry and photo assessment, followed by an in-person consultation with Dr. Ryu. Based on his evaluation, a personalized surgical plan is recommended. Once the procedure and surgery date are confirmed, patients proceed with preoperative preparations, surgery, recovery, and comprehensive postoperative care.

Deep Plane Facelift — Deep plane facelift involves extensive dissection beneath facial tissues. Risks include anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, seroma, delayed healing, wound separation, persistent pain, and visible scars. Swelling, bruising, tightness, and numbness can last for months, and hair loss or distortion of the hairline or ear position can occur. Poor blood supply can cause skin loss or tissue death. Nerve injury can cause temporary or permanent weakness, an altered smile, or numbness, and injury to the parotid gland or salivary duct can cause salivary leakage. A postoperative hematoma can require urgent drainage or another operation. General risks include thrombosis or embolism, and a complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery. No result, symmetry, scar quality, or duration can be guaranteed, and sagging can recur. Necklift — Neck lift can require extensive dissection beneath neck tissues. Risks include anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, seroma, delayed healing, wound separation, persistent pain, and visible scars, as well as prolonged swelling, tightness, numbness, contour irregularity, and asymmetry. Nerve injury can cause temporary or permanent weakness, including lower-lip weakness, or altered sensation, and injury to the parotid gland or salivary duct can cause salivary leakage. A large neck hematoma can obstruct the airway and require immediate emergency treatment. Platysmal bands can remain or return. General risks include thrombosis or embolism, and a complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery. No result, symmetry, scar quality, or duration can be guaranteed, and revision surgery can become necessary. Submentoplasty — Submentoplasty can cause anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, seroma, delayed healing, pain, and scarring, as well as asymmetry, dents, waviness, loose skin, discoloration, and persistent numbness. It can injure deeper structures, and platysmal bands or neck fullness can remain. Bone structure and deep-neck anatomy limit the possible change. General risks include thrombosis or embolism, and a complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery. No result, symmetry, scar quality, or duration can be guaranteed, and revision surgery can become necessary. Forehead (Brow) Lift — endoscopic — Endoscopic brow lift can cause anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, fluid collection, pain, prolonged swelling, poor healing, and scarring, as well as brow asymmetry, excessive or insufficient elevation, and a changed hairline. Facial or temporal nerve injury can cause temporary or permanent forehead or eyebrow weakness, and scalp numbness or hair loss can occur. Fixation material can become palpable, visible, displaced, infected, or painful and can require removal or revision. General risks include thrombosis or embolism, and a complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery. No result, symmetry, scar quality, or duration can be guaranteed, and revision surgery can become necessary. Forehead (Brow) Lift — bicoronal incision — Bicoronal brow lift can cause anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, fluid collection, pain, prolonged swelling, poor healing, wound separation, skin loss, and visible scars. It can also cause brow asymmetry, excessive or insufficient elevation, a changed hairline, and scalp contour irregularity. Facial or temporal nerve injury can cause temporary or permanent forehead or eyebrow weakness, and scalp numbness, itching, pain, or hair loss can occur. General risks include thrombosis or embolism, and a complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery. No result, symmetry, scar quality, or duration can be guaranteed, and revision surgery can become necessary. Upper Blepharoplasty — Upper blepharoplasty can cause anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, delayed wound repair, wound separation, persistent pain, and visible scars. Other risks include swelling, bruising, numbness, light sensitivity, irritation, dry eye, tearing, chemosis, and corneal injury. It can cause incomplete eye closure, eyelid retraction or malposition, double vision, undercorrection, or overcorrection. Orbital bleeding or vascular injury can cause temporary or permanent vision loss and, rarely, blindness. A complication can require urgent treatment or revision surgery. No result, crease, symmetry, or duration can be guaranteed. Lower Blepharoplasty — Lower blepharoplasty can cause anesthesia reactions, bleeding, hematoma, infection, seroma, delayed wound repair, wound separation, persistent pain, and visible scars. Other risks include swelling, bruising, irritation, dry eye, tearing, chemosis, corneal injury, incomplete eye closure, lid retraction, ectropion, entropion, double vision, and asymmetry. Orbital bleeding or vascular injury can cause temporary or permanent vision loss and, rarely, blindness. It does not guarantee correction of dark circles, hollows, skin texture, or pigment change, and revision surgery can become necessary. No result or symmetry can be guaranteed. Fat Graft — Fat harvesting can cause donor-site pain, scarring, numbness, contour irregularity, bleeding, hematoma, or infection. Fat grafting can cause prolonged swelling, asymmetry, lumps, oil cysts, calcification, overcorrection, undercorrection, migration, infection, or fat necrosis. Rarely, injected fat can enter a blood vessel and cause skin necrosis, permanent blindness, stroke, or severe neurological injury. Not all transferred fat survives, results vary substantially, and no preparation or injection method guarantees better fat survival. A complication can require emergency treatment or additional surgery.
